About Us
Simpsons Flooring Xtra is a proudly local, family-run business with deep roots in both South Canterbury and North Otago.
Originally established as Don Simpson Ltd in 1988 by Don Simpson, Simpson Flooring Xtra has grown across generations. John Simpson, Don’s son, now leads the business, with the third generation also involved through Ben and Patrick Simpson.
John began his flooring career as an installer and expanded the business by opening the Oamaru store in 2003. In 2008, Simpsons joined the Flooring Xtra network, strengthening their ability to offer trusted brands and excellent service while maintaining a strong local focus.
Today, Simpsons Flooring Xtra operates two stores with a team of 16 staff and around 20 contractors. The team is passionate about delivering outstanding flooring solutions across residential homes, new builds, and commercial projects. You’ll also often see their name around the sports fields and community spaces they proudly support.
